Julia A. Kim

Julia Kim is a registered patent attorney with more than 15 years of experience serving the life sciences sector and protecting pharmaceutical, chemical, biotech, medical device, and ag tech innovations. Julia has extensive experience providing value-added patent services to a range of clientele including established companies, premier research institutions, growth stage companies, and start-ups.

Julia currently serves as Chair of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, and previously served as Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Council Member, Biotech & Chem Patent Committee Co-Chair, and Licensing Committee Co-Chair. She is also a member of American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Wake County Bar Association.

Julia also previously served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Randall R. Rader, Chief Judge, CAFC, and as a Judicial Extern at the USPTO Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences.

Julia received her J.D. from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law and also received her B.S., Magna Cum Laude, with Honors, in Molecular and Cellular Biology, from the University of Arizona.
