Dr. Jones counsels clients on patent, trademark and trade secret issues. Dr. Jones has extensive experience in obtaining, litigating and licensing patents. Dr. Jones has a special emphasis in patents in life science disciplines, and has obtained hundreds of patents worldwide for clients in the following areas: fatty acid nutraceuticals, retroviral vectors, cell culture, recombinant proteins, transgenic animals, stem cells, transgenic plants, plant cultivars, plant transformation, bioenergy and biofuels, cold storage of organs, liquid crystals, nanotechnology, high-throughput screening methodologies, artificial skin, cell assays, and biochips.

Dr. Jones has experience in representing US and international companies, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, as well as leading United States universities. Dr. Jones actively participates with clients in designing sophisticated intellectual property protection strategies for their assets and for the maximization of their intellectual property resources (IPR), as well as strategies for assuring freedom to operate in complex business environments.
